Your First Roll

You've connected your activity source. Let's roll.

Pre-alpha notice

Boulder Roller is in pre-alpha. Effort is tracked as points and stored off-chain. Tokens and on-chain attestations are planned for a later launch.

Step 1: Upload or Sync a Ride

If you connected Strava/Garmin:

Your recent rides should appear automatically in the app. Look for the "Rides" or "Activities" section.

If uploading manually:

  1. Click Upload Ride
  2. Select your FIT or GPX file
  3. Wait for processing

Step 2: Watch Pattern Detection

Once your ride is uploaded, the pattern engine analyzes it. This usually takes a few seconds.

You'll see:

Step 3: Review Detected Patterns

After analysis, you'll see which climb patterns were detected:

└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘

Each detected pattern shows:

  • Name (if known) or coordinates (if new)
  • Difficulty score (relative scale)
  • Elevation gain and distance
  • Your time for this effort
  • Estimated points

Step 4: Confirm Your Rolls

Click Roll on each pattern you want to verify. This records your effort and awards points.

Step 5: See Your Points

After verification completes, your points update in your account.

Discovering New Patterns

If you climb a hill that isn't already registered, you might discover a new pattern.

As the first roller:

  • You can suggest a name for the pattern
  • You receive bonus attribution

Tips for Better Rewards

  1. Climb harder hills - difficulty correlates with points
  2. Explore new areas - first rolls earn bonus attribution
  3. Ride consistently - more patterns, more points

What's Next?

  • View your pattern history in your profile
  • Learn about tokens (planned)
