Your First Roll
You've set up your wallet and connected your activity source. Let's roll.
Step 1: Upload or Sync a Ride
If you connected Strava/Garmin:
Your recent rides should appear automatically in the app. Look for the "Rides" or "Activities" section.
If uploading manually:
Click Upload Ride
Select your FIT or GPX file
Wait for processing
Step 2: Watch Pattern Detection
Once your ride is uploaded, the pattern engine analyzes it. This usually takes a few seconds.
You'll see:

After analysis, you'll see which patterns were detected:
Each detected pattern shows:
Name (if known) or coordinates (if new)
Difficulty score (1-10)
Elevation gain and distance
Your time for this effort
Estimated DUNG reward
Step 4: Submit Your Proofs
Click Roll on each pattern you want to verify.
Your wallet will prompt you to sign a transaction. This:
Submits your proof of effort to Solana
Creates an on-chain record of your roll
Triggers reward calculation
Transaction cost: Typically < $0.01 in SOL
Step 5: Receive Your DUNG
After the transaction confirms (usually 1-2 seconds on Solana), you'll see:
The DUNG is now in your wallet.
What If No Patterns Were Detected?
A few possibilities:
Your ride was flat. Climb patterns require elevation gain. If you rode on flat terrain, no climb patterns will be detected. Power patterns (coming soon) will help here.
The climb was too short. We have minimum thresholds to filter out noise. Very short or gentle inclines may not qualify.
GPS data was poor. If your GPS track has gaps or inaccuracies, pattern detection may fail. Try uploading from a different source or checking your device settings.
Discovering New Patterns
If you climb a hill that isn't already registered, you might discover a new pattern.
As the first roller:
You can suggest a name for the pattern
You receive a bonus reward
You're permanently recorded as the discoverer
Tips for Better Rewards
Climb harder hills β Difficulty correlates with rewards
Look for staked patterns β More CAL staked = higher multiplier
Explore new areas β First rolls have bonuses
Ride consistently β More patterns = more DUNG
